| 12-23-05 Well, first of all, Merry Christmas. Secondly, the fishing has been red hot! Their are huge bait balls of minnows and sardines up and down the reef. You can literally run from one bait ball to the other and catch several different species of fish. Yesterday we caught blackfin tuna, king mackerel, sailfish, and huge jack crevalles all on different bait balls. We worked one bait ball for a couple of hours and watched thousands of jacks from 15-25lbs. crashing the bait. It was quite an awesome site. It took about 2 seconds to get a bite everytime we threw a bait in. Earlier this week we pulled up next to a bait ball, threw a bait in, and caught a 26 inch yellowtail snapper! We followed the bait ball and caught sixteen yellowtails off of it ranging from 24-28 inches. It was quite a site to see big flags rolling and crashing bait. We also caught some nice black grouper, and landed a nice 16lb. mutton snapper on Monday. It was a busy week, but the fishing didn't disappoint anyone at all. Well, Until Next Time....Capt. Jeff
