Today I fished on a private boat, a beautiful brand new 62ft Ocean yacht. The boat is owned by the Waggoner brothers from Tennessee. I caught live bait (pilchards) on my boat before the trip. We ran way to the West, to a spot on the reef that is loaded with big kingfish. On the way I saw a frigate bird diving. I could tell he was on dolphin. We trolled by him and hooked two, lost one and caught one. As soon as we got to the kingfish spot the action was non stop. The kings were all nice size, 15 to 30lb. Lots of fun on light spinning tackle. I’m taking them again on Tuesday in search of sailfish. I’ll let you know how it turns out!
