Sailfish, Dolphin, & More! February 22 2005
I fished the Waggoner brothers again today on their sweet new 62’ Ocean Yacht. We slammed the kingfish on Sunday, and went looking for a sailfish today. I caught bait in my boat before the trip, and loaded up on big pilchards. Not long after we started fishing we hooked a couple dolphins. Then the kingfish bite was red hot. We were using mono leaders for the sailfish, and still landed a pile of kings. We also caught a shark, a bonita, and a cero mackerel. Then a sailfish came into the baits and whacked one with his bill and swam away. Not long after that another sail popped up. He ate, and the fight was on.
