I had another tarpon trip today with three guys from Fort Lauderdale, FL. I caught over 2 doz mullet before the trip. Not long into the trip one the guys hooked up. The way it was fighting, I thought it was a jack cravell. It was a nice surprise to see a 12 LB mangrove snapper come to the boat. The world record mangrove is 17 LB. A couple weeks ago while tarpon fishing, Brian G from NJ caught a 14 pounder. This spot Im fishing holds the next new world record! After the snapper we hooked a barracuda that jumped and cut the line. We missed 5 or 6 tarpon then hooked one about 110 LB. Great fight, lots of jumps! We got him to the boat and released it. Jumped off another big one, then hooked a beast around 130 LB. Fought it for almost an hour before getting the leader. It was one heck of a fish! Tarpon fishing is getting better everyday, and will peak in late June. Call (305)797-3116 to book a trip.
Thank you,
Captain Stan Miles
