Kingfish & Groupers
March 26 2005
We fished the Gulf of Mexico for kingfish today with live pilchards. We were in 42 Ft of water on a rock bar N.W. of Key west. I marked a big school of kings on the bottom finder and we anchored up on top of them. We caught one right off the bat, but they didn’t want to eat after that. I dropped a bait to the bottom and hooked a grouper in less than 10 sec. We caught 10 grouper in a row, but only one was legal. We didn’t get another king bite, so I decided to move. We went to another spot and anchored again. We hooked a big king on the first bait we cast out. We found a school that was hungry. We caught our limit in a very short time. It was catch and release from then on. The big bonitos also showed up, and we had a blast. It was a great day. Get in on the action, call (305)797-3116 to book your great day on the water. Thank you, Captain Stan Miles
