HAPPY HOLIDAYS !
December 18 2004
HAPPY HOLIDAYS FISH FANS ! The first cold front of the year reely kicked the Sailfish in the butt and sent them racin into the Keys in search of warmer waters, there’s hundreds of Sailfish movin in on a daily basis and with another cold front passin through this sunday you can expect Red Hot Sailfishin right through the Holidays and into January and February. For those of you visiting Islamorada over the Holidays bring some of those clothes you wear up North to keep you warm, you’ll only need them for a day or two but when it’s 45 to 5o degrees and your on the water with a 15 to 20 mph wind travelin at 20 to 30 mph, you’ll be glad you have’em even though you probably don’t think you’ll need’em. Throughout the holidays you can expect to hook-up at least 3 to 5 Sailfish a day on the Reel Busy, these fish will be travelin in packs so double and triple hook-ups can also be expected. For those of you lookin for calmer waters and lots of action the Reel Busy is finding red hot action with Spanish,Cero and King Makerel with a few Seatrout, Snappers and Jacks in the mix. After warmin up with a bunch of macks and Jacks we switch up to 20lb tackle and use some of the fish you catch for bait, you can then expect to catch Spinner,Lemon and Blacktip Sharks between 50 and 150 pounds, many of these Sharks will be bustin up the top of the water jumpin, spinnin and screamin the line off your reel. The current on the Islamorada Humps has slowed down and so has the Tuna fishin, this is a day to day thing, when the current picks up the Tuna bite turns on. While Sailfishin on the reefs edge we’ll be catchin a few Kingfish, Wahoo, Tuna and Dolphin. Along the reefs and wrecks we’ll be catchin Grouper, Mutton Snapper and a few Cobia when the wind and seas cooperate. This is a great time to visit Islamorada, Sportfishin Capital of the World, give us a call and let’s catch fish ! 305-304-9049 I’ll be back in about 10 days with another fishin report from Islamorada, Catch You Later, Captain Wayne, Reel Busy Charters
